Our breeding effort is all about doing things the "right" way and being sure we are making the best choices for our dam and the litter. This is not about making money. We have made sure our dam is in terrific health before breeding her and that the stud dog we selected was also in the best health. We test for hip and elbow dysplasia, for eye and heart health, and Von Willebrands.

We also expect the most from and for our puppy owners. Puppy owners must fill out our potential owner questionnaire prior to being considered for ownership. They must travel to see us and must allow us to come to their home to see where the puppy will live. Puppies will not be shipped and will only be sold on limited AKC registration with requirements to spay or neuter. We feel strongly that it is our responsibility to make sure they are adopted into proper homes and taken care of the rest of their lives. We encourage our puppy owners to contact us if they have any concerns at any time throughout the puppy's life, and hope they will stay in touch and let us know what is going on with their puppy.

There are no guarantees on longevity with this breed. Our girls come from lines that contain many long lived dogs, but there have also been the typical short lived Berner tragedies. No one can guarantee that your puppy will be free from cancer, or dysplasia, or even heart problems, but we have tried our best to ensure the health of the litter and will guarantee that when the puppy goes to your home, it is in the best health. It is up to you to make sure everything you do relating to the puppy is done with a smart, educated approach, so that the puppy ends up being the very "best" it can be.

Before contacting us, please take time to visit www.bmdca.org and read all the educational materials supplied. It's important for you to understand what you are getting into. This is a beautiful and loving breed, but can be a disaster to own if you just can't provide the right home environment. These dogs sometimes slobber, always shed and if not trained properly, can just make life miserable for themselves and their families. If you know what to expect and can accept the whole package, then you just might have the most wonderful family companion you could ever hope for. That has been our experience and the experience we hope to pass on.

You are welcome and encouraged to contact us at anytime to talk about our breeding practices. If you decide you are seriously interested in adopting a Trillium puppy, we ask you to fill out our potential owner questionnaire. That will get the ball rolling and we will be in touch with you as soon as we know we have puppies on the ground.

We do not sell show/breeding potential puppies. All puppies are sold on spay/neuter contracts.
